A Unique Eco Experience to Remember Forever
Corporate and Private Charters
Tourists and guests of both private and corporate functions need not travel far to gain an eco- experience that showcases Sydney’s abundant natural beauty.
The Mothership is a purpose-built solar powered “houseboat” created especially for touring the pristine waters of the Hawkesbury, she is berthed at Akuna Bay, less that an hour’s travel from the Sydney CBD.
Abundant Natural Beauty and Skippy
It is hard to describe how stunningly beautiful this area is. Interestingly the National Park encompassing the Hawkesbury is where the iconic TV show Skippy was filmed. Add this to the fact that there are over 15,000 registered aboriginal sites and the Hawkesbury should be on everyone’s bucket list.
The best way to experience the park is from the water. Whilst being a sophisticated boat the designers of the Mothership have done all they can to hide technology away. The minimalistic approach of the interior design doesn’t fight the abundant natural beauty but quietly complements it.
Technology and Design
It’s a great tonic to travel slow with the bifold doors open and not a sound (or smell) coming from the motors. All that can be heard is water lapping against the hulls and birdsong. “It’s a boat that helps you remember that the world is an extremely beautiful place and that humans are in fact rather clever” says Mothership founder Tim Knox.
Regardless of the weather operators can guarantee a good experience. Arguably this area is most stunning in heavy weather. The Mothership’s large interior means that even in the worst weather people have plenty of room to move around.
Zero Engine Noise, Zero Pollution
“This is a boat that gets people scratching their head and smiling” says Tim. “It’s wonderful being so comfortable and yet being afloat. She’s a boat that helps us understand that we can think differently.”
